Aarrearkku was born out of a love for a more sustainable everyday life.
I started by repairing our family’s clothes and running craft workshops as a side business. But in the summer of 2026, a bigger dream was born: to open my very own flea market — an inspiring space that brings together second-hand shopping, recycling, upcycling, and crafts. And perhaps even a little café of my own!
And all of this right in the heart of our home neighborhood, Mankkaa in Espoo.
One of my biggest priorities was to make both selling and shopping as easy and enjoyable as possible. Creativity, community, excellent customer service, and fairness were equally important to me. Above all, I wanted to create something truly our own, rather than simply copying what others are doing.
My previous brand, Suvin vaatekorjaamo (Suvi’s Clothing Repair Shop), and its social media channels will continue to share knowledge, tips, and inspiration about clothing repairs and Cricut projects. Meanwhile, the social media channels of Mankkaan Aarrearkku will focus on everything happening at our flea market.
I strongly believe that recycling and extending the life of clothes and everyday items doesn’t have to be complicated or boring. Quite the opposite! It can be an inspiring journey of creativity, discovery, and seeing old things in a completely new light.
A fun little fact: Since both my employee and I originally come from Germany, we’re happy to offer customer service in German as well, in addition to Finnish and English.
Our vision is to become a pioneer in the second-hand and recycling industry, bringing together modern second-hand shopping and knowledge, creative activities, and family-friendly services — all under one roof.

What Can You Discover at Aarrearkku?
Aarrearkku is so much more than a traditional flea market. It’s a second living room, a starting point for inspiring creative projects, and a relaxed meeting place for the community.
– A Bright & Inspiring Flea Market: Discover a carefully curated selection of second-hand clothing, accessories, shoes, maternity and baby essentials, toys, and much more. You’ll also find high-quality handmade products, created by both our customers and Finnish craft entrepreneurs, as well as lovingly repaired and upcycled clothing.
– A Creative Sewing & Upcycling Space: Stop by to mend your favorite piece of clothing or create something completely new! Our creative room is equipped with a sewing machine, an overlocker (serger), and essential sewing supplies. And we’re planning to expand it over time!
– A Cozy Café: Enjoy freshly brewed coffee, delicious tea, and a changing selection of tasty treats. All our treats are completely nut-free and peanut-free, including traces of nuts and peanuts. We also do our very best to accommodate other food allergies.
– Play Areas for Our Little Explorers: We’ve made sure our youngest visitors feel welcome too! In our main area, between the children’s clothing section and the café seating, you’ll find a lovely play corner for little ones. There’s also another play area in our sewing and upcycling room, so parents and caregivers can finally enjoy a little creative time while their children play safely nearby.
– Convenient Family-Friendly Facilities: Visiting us with a stroller is easy! We also provide a clean, well-equipped baby changing room to make your visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible when you’re out and about with little ones.
